Why you should choose Stone Oak Scuba and SSI as your training partner.
Becoming a scuba diver is the first step in a journey that will forever change the way you experience the world. You will explore the wonders of a weightless underwater world, interact with incredible marine life and discover ecosystems hidden beneath the surface.
Learning to dive is much easier than you think and if you’re still not sure you can try SCUBA with the SSI Try Scuba program.
If you want to dive anywhere you want, with anyone you want, the Open Water Diver program is your international certification to be part of an exclusive group of underwater explorers that most people only dream about joining.
Complete the e-learning materials either online or by using one of the mySSI apps Apple & Android. Doing this before the scheduled classroom date ensures a fun and relaxed classroom experience (not that we still won’t have fun). Please complete all 6 section reviews with 100%. Don’t worry you can take them as many times as needed.
We will be going over the content that you learned in Step 2, review the questions, and take a test(we promise it isn’t hard). During this time the instructor will go over pool and open water schedules.
Virtual Classrooms are held every Tuesday at 6:00pm and normally last 2 – 3 hours. Can’t make Tuesdays? No problem, just purchase the class that’s closest to the date that you can and send us a message and let us know. We can accommodate the most demanding schedules.
What’s included: All rental gear is included in the price of your class this includes the following, Tanks, Weights, Regulator(s) with computer, Wetsuit if needed, and BCD.
What’s not included: You will need to purchase your own personal SCUBA gear (Mask, Snorkel, Fins, and Boots) these are required before pool. You can either purchase with us using our online store, we offer free pickup or delivery for a fee. You can also bring your own as long as it meets SCUBA certifications.
Gear pickup is normally the Thursday before your pool date.
Did we already say time for the FUN part? There are a total of 4 dives spread out over 2 days. This is where you get to put all of those new skills to use and you get to show us how awesome you are!
Once all 4 dives are completed, you are officially certified as an Open Water Diver and can begin to explore the underwater world!
Open water dives are normally the following weekend after you’ve successfully completed the pool portion in Step 5.
